It was taken on Saturday, November 13, 2004.

The video is in Quicktime format so you may need to install the Quicktime viewer.
http://intraplanar.net/2004/11/fermentation#comments Beer http://intraplanar.net/comments/node/46/feed Sat, 13 Nov 2004 13:22:27 -0600 tangent 46 at http://intraplanar.net BJCP style guideline update is published http://intraplanar.net/2004/09/bjcp-style-guideline-update-published
After a lot of hard work, I've reformatted the BJCP style guidelines in XML and generated newly formatted html pages. I am happy to say that the pages validate as XHTML 1.0 strict and are much more accessible and easy to navigate now. I took the opportunity to mark up abbreviations and create hyperlinks between the styles.

Hopefully, having the guidelines in XML will make them more manageable in the future, and will provide for easier integration into applications if people have requirements to do so.

Go check out the new guideline pages.
http://intraplanar.net/2004/09/bjcp-style-guideline-update-published#comments Beer IT http://intraplanar.net/comments/node/14/feed Sat, 04 Sep 2004 13:09:44 -0500 tangent 14 at http://intraplanar.net Driving sucks but the Midwest doesn't http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/driving-sucks-midwest-doesnt
I returned from my trip to Indiana and Wisconsin early tuesday morning, and it took me most of this week to recover. I ended up driving over 2000 miles (3200 km) in total and I felt like a wreck by the time I got back.

The trip was largely successful though. I picked up several New Glarus beers and some interesting imports.

Here is the complete list of beers which I brought back:

New Glarus Belgian Red

New Glarus Raspberry Tart

New Glarus Uff-da Bock

New Glarus Zwickel

New Glarus Unplugged Imperial Stout

Uerige Altbier

Bayerischer Bahnhof Gose

Ommegang Three Philosophers

Capital Fest Beer

Flying Dog Horn Dog barleywine

Two Brothers Domaine DuPage Bière de Garde

On our way to Wisconsin to pick up the New Glarus beers, we went through Chicago and paid a visit to the Maproom beer bar which turns out to be every bit as good as others say and then some. While we were there we played my new Brewmaster game (which Alex thought might be way too geeky to do) and while we were playing the brewmaster of the Mickey Finn's Brewpub came and introduced himself. Alex later rescinded his opinion that playing the game in that bar (surrounded by beer geeks) might be too geeky.
http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/driving-sucks-midwest-doesnt#comments Beer http://intraplanar.net/comments/node/12/feed Fri, 27 Aug 2004 17:04:59 -0500 tangent 12 at http://intraplanar.net Great lakes beer run http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/great-lakes-beer-run
I'm off on a beer run in Indiana and Wisconsin this weekend. I am hoping to pick up some New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red (and perhaps their raspberry tart). If this beer is anywhere near as good as others make it sound, it's going to be great. I think I'll also be picking up some Three Floyds beer along with whatever else looks interesting.

Actually, the reason for this trip is that a friend is moving to South Bend, IN and needs someone to drive him there so he is paying for the gas. I wouldn't normally drive 900 miles/1400 Km (one way) to buy beer (my previous max was ~500 miles/700 Km to Half Time Beverage in Poughkeepsie, NY) so this opportunity to pick up some New Glarus is almost too good to be true. Honestly though, I'll use any excuse I can find to go pick up beer I can't get locally.
http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/great-lakes-beer-run#comments Beer http://intraplanar.net/comments/node/11/feed Thu, 19 Aug 2004 01:31:59 -0500 tangent 11 at http://intraplanar.net What's on tap? http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/whats-on-tap
Well, I've finally managed to fill my beer fridge. I have 5 kegs of 4 different beers on tap: a pale ale, a Witbier, and 2 porters. It feels good to have a selection of draft beer to choose from again.

Last time I had any amount of beer in the fridge I ended up drinking almost everything before I brewed again so the delay factor was pretty distressing. I have to remember not to let that happen again.
http://intraplanar.net/2004/08/whats-on-tap#comments Beer http://intraplanar.net/comments/node/10/feed Tue, 17 Aug 2004 11:28:30 -0500 tangent 10 at http://intraplanar.net
